LAIyam Privacy Policy

Information We Collect

When you create and use a LAIyam account, we may collect the following information.

Account Information

During registration, you may provide:

• First name and last name, or music school / organisation name
• Country
• State
• City
• Email address
• Mobile number, where mobile registration or verification is available
• Password

For users outside India, registration is available through email. Mobile-number registration and SMS verification may be available to users in India.

Your password is processed through Firebase Authentication. Janmasoft does not store or have access to your password in readable form.

Profile Information

After registration, you may provide additional profile information such as:

• Role, such as Sishya, Guru, Self Learner, or Music School
• Experience level
• Age range

This information helps us understand the types of users who use LAIyam and may be used to improve or personalise the app and its content.

Verification Information

During registration or when certain account details are changed, LAIyam may send a one-time verification code to your email address or, where applicable, your mobile number.

Verification codes are used only to confirm that you have access to the relevant email address or mobile number. LAIyam does not retain a verification code after it has been successfully verified or has expired.

Technical and Service Information

Our service providers may automatically process limited technical information necessary to provide, secure, and maintain their services. Depending on the service, this may include information such as:

• IP address
• Device, browser, or application information
• Authentication and security logs
• Date and time of access or verification attempts
• Email or SMS delivery status
• Information used to detect abuse, fraud, or unauthorised access

Janmasoft does not use this information for advertising or behavioural profiling.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information only for purposes connected with providing, securing, maintaining, and improving LAIyam, including:

• creating and maintaining your account;
• verifying your email address or, where applicable, mobile number;
• allowing you to sign in;
• securing your account;
• enabling password recovery;
• maintaining your account and profile;
• communicating with you about account, service, or security matters;
• understanding, in aggregate, the geographic and user-profile characteristics of the LAIyam community;
• improving LAIyam and its content; and
• personalising aspects of the app where appropriate.

We may also process information where reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, protect our users or services, prevent fraud or misuse, or establish or defend legal claims.

Advertising, Sale of Data and Profiling

LAIyam does not display advertising.

Janmasoft:

• does not sell personal information;
• does not share personal information with third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes;
• does not use personal information for targeted or behavioural advertising; and
• does not use personal information for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects concerning users.

If these practices change in the future, this Privacy Policy and any corresponding app-store disclosures will be updated before such functionality is introduced.

Analytics and Tracking

LAIyam does not use third-party advertising trackers or third-party analytics services.

LAIyam does not track users across third-party websites, applications, or online services for advertising or profiling purposes, and does not permit third-party advertising or analytics services to do so through the app.

Because LAIyam does not engage in such cross-service tracking, browser-based “Do Not Track” signals do not alter LAIyam’s in-app data-processing practices.

Service Providers

We use a limited number of third-party service providers to operate LAIyam.

• Firebase / Google provides authentication and related infrastructure and stores LAIyam account and profile information.
• Resend processes email addresses and related delivery information for sending verification and other account-related emails.
• MSG91, for users for whom mobile verification is available, including users in India, may process mobile numbers and related delivery information for sending SMS verification codes and other account-related SMS messages.

These service providers process information as necessary to provide their respective services and may retain limited technical, security, authentication, or delivery records in accordance with their own policies and applicable legal obligations.

We do not authorise these providers to use LAIyam user information for their own advertising or marketing purposes.

Children and Age Requirement

LAIyam is intended for users aged 13 years and above.

Before beginning registration, users must confirm that they are at least 13 years of age. Users who do not provide this confirmation cannot proceed with registration.

LAIyam does not knowingly permit children under 13 to create accounts or knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If we become aware that an account has been created by a child under 13, we will take reasonable steps to delete the account and associated personal information.

If you believe that a child under 13 has provided personal information to LAIyam, please contact us at support@janmasoft.com.

Where applicable law provides additional protections for minors, Janmasoft will process the personal information of such users in accordance with those requirements.

Data Minimisation

We seek to collect and retain only information reasonably necessary to provide, secure, maintain, and improve LAIyam.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information such as financial information, government identification numbers, precise geolocation, health information, biometric information, or information concerning religious or political beliefs through LAIyam.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure, misuse, or loss.

These measures include, where appropriate:

• secure authentication;
• encrypted transmission of information;
• access controls;
• restricted administrative access; and
• established service providers for authentication and message delivery.

No method of electronic transmission or storage can, however, be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Data Retention

We retain account and profile information for as long as your LAIyam account remains active or for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service.

When you request deletion of your account, we delete the account and associated personal information, subject to any limited retention reasonably necessary for:

• legal or regulatory compliance;
• security;
• fraud or abuse prevention;
• dispute resolution;
• enforcement of our rights; or
• legitimate technical or backup purposes.

Information retained for one of these limited purposes will not be used for unrelated purposes.

Our service providers may retain limited technical, authentication, security, or delivery records in accordance with their own retention policies and applicable law.

Your Rights and Choices

You may review or update available account and profile information through LAIyam.

You may also contact us at support@janmasoft.com to request, as applicable:

• access to personal information associated with your account;
• a copy of your personal information;
• correction of inaccurate personal information;
• deletion of your personal information or account; or
• information about how your personal information is processed.

Where applicable law provides additional privacy rights, including rights relating to access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, objection, or appeal, you may exercise those rights by contacting us.

We may take reasonable steps to verify that a request relates to you before acting on it.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights provided by applicable law.

Because LAIyam does not sell personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it for targeted advertising or qualifying profiling, there is presently no such processing from which users need to opt out.

Account and Data Deletion

You may delete your LAIyam account and associated personal information at any time.

You can request deletion:

• from within the app using the account icon in the top bar → Delete my account; or
• through our external account-deletion page at https://janmasoft.com/systems/music/laiyam/delete-account.

You may also contact support@janmasoft.com for assistance with account or data deletion.

International Processing

LAIyam is made available to users in multiple countries.

Janmasoft and its service providers may process or store information in countries other than the country in which you reside.

Where applicable law requires safeguards for international transfers of personal information, we will rely on appropriate lawful mechanisms or safeguards provided by applicable law and our service providers.

Regardless of where information is processed, we handle personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Legal Requirements

We may disclose personal information where reasonably necessary to:

• comply with applicable law, regulation, legal process, or lawful governmental request;
• protect the rights, property, or security of Janmasoft, LAIyam, our users, or others;
• investigate fraud, abuse, or security incidents; or
• establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

We do not disclose personal information to government or law-enforcement authorities merely upon informal request where a lawful process is required.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in:

• LAIyam or its features;
• our data-processing practices;
• our service providers; or
• applicable law or regulatory requirements.

The current version of the Privacy Policy will be published at this location with a revised effective date.

Where a change materially affects how we process personal information, we will provide any additional notice required by applicable law.
